The service is very good as the waitress is very friendly and accommodated the requests. However, the food needs to be improved as every dishes we ordered are too sweet which removed the favor of rice and raw fish as it should be.

Awesome sushi place in Dawson creek. I was a visitor here and many people suggested me this sushi place. It doesn't disappoint, the waitress was very helpful and suggested me some great dishes. I tried miso soup, dinner box B and crazy roll. Everything tasted great and portions were very reasonable. Overall, I was very happy and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who visits or lives in Dawson Creek.

We ordered three rolls from New Tokyo Sushi. I thought the scallops in the roll was good! They added imitation crab in the roll to bulk up the roll. I'm used to the roll just having scallops (with Masago optional).. There was a little hair in the scallop roll. You can see it in the close up on the cucumber.. The rice in all the rolls were subpar. I didn't like the rice at all. It's dense, compact, and cold. Some of the grains were hard and broke apart into powder. Presentation was nice. Just FYI for other customers: The BC roll uses *tempura cooked salmon without skin*. The sauce is terryaki sauce. This is a little different from what we were used to in the lower mainland as the BC rolls are usually salmon skin with some meat but definitely needed the grilled skin.

Food was yummy The lady who served us wasn’t really welcoming or nice. Food came in a timely manner. Recommend trying Monkeys brain from the menu ( deep fried avocado with imitation carb, cheese ….)

If you're in Dawson Creek and craving authentic sushi, look no further than New Tokyo Sushi. Nestled at 1325 Alaska Ave, this establishment has attracted both locals and visitors alike with its variety of sushi offerings and friendly service. The warm ambiance paired with the hustle of the kitchen conveys a promise of fresh, delicious meals.

Customer experiences at New Tokyo Sushi are a mixed bag, reflecting the depth of flavors and culinary techniques represented. Many patrons, like Raj K, praise the helpful staff who go above and beyond to suggest standout dishes. The miso soup, for instance, accompanies dinner boxes that include house favorites. The Crazy Roll has also made quite the impression, combining traditional ingredients with a twist that delights the palate.

However, some diners express a desire for refinement in the dishes. Apinita Siripatt noted that while the service is commendable, certain dishes risk overpowering the natural flavors of rice and raw fish with excessive sweetness. This feedback invites New Tokyo Sushi to continue evolving and improving on its culinary creations.

On the bright side, the artistry of sushi presentation is a consistent highlight. The dishes serve as visual spectacles, drawn together with vibrant colors and meticulous arrangements. Despite a few critiques regarding the rice texture, which Michelle Hillock found dense and cold, many still find something to enjoy in the diverse menu offerings.

With a reputation for freshness, as noted by Smsm, New Tokyo Sushi holds its ground in a small town, proving that exceptional flavors can thrive outside the big cities. So, whether you're a sushi aficionado or a casual diner looking to explore, this spot promises a worthwhile experience that beckons for a moment of indulgence.
